Head into the mountains for a getaway at Porters Lodge! We are nestled at the base of Porters Ski Area, right at the gateway into the Craigieburn Range. Originally a private ski lodge, Porters Lodge offers a warm and cozy home base for outdoor adventures in the area, or a memorable night’s stay in the mountains for travellers passing through.
Porters Lodge is fully serviced with a restaurant and bar, comfy rooms, camper van sites and on-site mountain biking. All you have to do is show up, and our friendly staff will look after you. Read more about the lodge below and book your stay with us.

Porters Lodge offers accommodation year-round
Porters lodge offers accommodation for families and solo travellers alike in our comfortable, bunk-style rooms. Enjoy the authentic Kiwi ski lodge feeling, relax in the lounge and play rounds of pool and darts in our games room.
If you’re exploring New Zealand in a camper van, you can spend the night against a beautiful mountain backdrop at the Porters Lodge camping area. We offer both powered and non-powered sites suitable for motorhomes and camper vans.

Porters Lodge Restaurant & Bar
Porters Lodge Restaurant & Bar serves tasty burgers and main meals, cold draft beers, delicious cocktails and great coffee. We also have multiple options for kids. Take your pick from our menu and enjoy a meal with a view in our cozy restaurant or out on the sunny patio.
Porters Lodge Bar & Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner – pop in for a bite and a drink after a day out in the mountains!

Porters Lodge is the perfect home base for outdoor adventures in the Craigieburn Range. Whether you’re here to ski, toboggan, climb amongst the legendary Castle Hill rocks, disappear into the peaceful hiking trails, catch trophy trout or hurtle down one of the mountain bike trails of the Craigieburn Range, we have it all to offer right on our doorstep.
Porters Lodge offers a range of mountain biking activities during the summer season. Make sure to come and give our 2.3km Flow Trail a go! The highlight of the winter season at the lodge is tobogganing at our popular Snowplay area.
