Snow Report
Last update: Friday, 17th Jul 2026
Porters is open. It’s shaping up to be a great day, with all lifts spinning, blue skies, light winds, sunshine and pleasant temperatures – so get on up and have some fun with us!
The access road this morning is chain free. We recommend that all vehicles carry chains in winter.
We have built up the lift track on T3 over the last couple of days, so access to the top of the mountain will be much improved. Run of the day will be McNulty’s Basin, which has held a lot of snow from the recent storm, and with nicely groomed wide trails, it will be a lot of fun.
Off trail and lower mountain is best described as early season – with some thin cover in places and deep drifted snow in others. However, the trails have groomed up nicely overnight, so expect sugary snow over a firmer base – just watch out for the sharks looking to take a bite out of your gear.
The forecast today is for sunny clear skies. The temperature in the base area at 5.45am is 4 degrees, with a light to moderate north westerly at all elevations, which is expected to continue all day.
Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up from chain bay 2 at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am.
Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
Porters Lodge, Restaurant and Bar will be running Snowplay again from 10am to 4pm.
