Snow Report
Last update: Saturday, 25th Jul 2026
Porters is open, with all lifts spinning. We took delivery of upwards of 40cm of new snow on the upper mountain and 20cm on our lower slopes yesterday and today.
The mountain is looking the best it has all winter, so get on up and enjoy the hassle free vibe that Porters is famous for. There’s plenty of parking, minimal lift queues and no need to arrive too early. What’s not to like about that!
We will need to do some control work this morning before we can give access to the mountain and get all lifts open. We will be holding traffic at chain bay 2 on our access road until around 9:30am. Once we get uphill access, we will have the chair lift and learners area open. Upper mountain lifts will take a bit longer, but we do not anticipate a significant delay.
WEATHER
At 5:45am, the temperature is minus 1 degree, with scattered high cloud and a light breeze from the south at all elevations. It has just started snowing down to our lower access road.
The forecast today is for snow showers throughout the day, and light winds to continue. Low cloud and obscured skies are expected at times today. Low light lenses and warm clothes would be a good idea to make the most of the day.
WHAT TO EXPECT TODAY
The skiing and riding is going to be great across the whole ski area today. We will open as much terrain as possible throughout the day. Overnight we have groomed McNultys through to Stellar and down into Easy Street nice and wide. We will be looking to open other terrain once control work is complete.
ROAD
Chains are required on all vehicles today, from chain bay 2 – please fit them where indicated. Snow has started to settle on our access road. We do not hire or sell chains.
If you don’t have chains, or would prefer not to drive our access road, there will be a free shuttle for skiers and snowboarders, picking up at chain bay 2, and the Lodge on request, at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am.
Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
RENTALS
New for this winter, we have a range of Black Crows demo skis, in all sizes, available in our rentals department. Skis are $79 a day, or $99 with Lange boots. Pop into rentals if you already have a pass, see Antoine and the team, and get fitted out with some shiny high-end skis, and make the most of the awesome conditions on the mountain this weekend.
LODGE
Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, just 6km up our access road, will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Pop in for a bite to eat after your day on the mountain, the food will impress.
Snowplay will not be operating today. Please check the report tomorrow morning for an update — we are hoping to be able to open Snowplay on Sunday.
