Snow Report
Last update: Tuesday, 1st Sep 2026
Is it spring? Not sure. The weather continues to go off script.
We have a return to winter on offer today.
We will be open at 9am with all lifts spinning. The temperature at 5:45am in the base area is minus 3. There is a light westerly breeze on the lower mountain, increasing light to moderate at higher elevations. Skies are blue, the views are impressive. Dress warm, bring sunblock and a smile, it’s going to be a great day.
The forecast after today is for a return to westerlies and various varieties of precipitation, so today is looking like the best day for a while.
We have groomed McNultys, Stellar Cat Track, Easy Street, platter and the learners area overnight. There will be some fun skiing and riding on offer today. Off trail will be firm in places at first but is expected to soften in the sun later today.
Chains are not required for our access road today. We recommend that all vehicles carry chains in winter, as conditions can change rapidly.
Our free shuttle service will be doing return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 9:30am and 10:30am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar will be open for coffee from 10am, and meals from 11am.
