Porters is open today with the chair lift, platter and magic carpet lifts from 9am. We may be able to get T1 open this morning, but T2 and T3 will not be open today.

Due to possible impacts of wind on lift operations today, we will be doing half price lift passes today.

At 7:30am, the temperature is 3 degrees . There is a moderate north westerly wind in the base area, increasing to moderate to strong on the mid and upper mountain. Skies are mostly clear with scattered high clouds. The forecast today is for winds to increase slightly this afternoon, and for high cloud cover to build.

Lift operations may be impacted by wind later today.

After a weekend of wild weather, it’s great to see winds dropping back and skies clearing. Over the last two days, we have had a full range of conditions, including rain and snow. All of this was accompanied by some very strong winds. In terms of new snow, we got about 10cm, but in all honesty we aren’t sure where it ended up.

Off trail there might be the odd wind blown stash but there is also icy stripped areas to contend with. The best skiing and riding today will be on the groomed trails.

Chains are not required for our access road today. We recommend that all vehicles carry chains in winter, as conditions can change rapidly.

Our free shuttle service will be doing return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 9:30am and 10:30am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
