Snow Report
Last update: Monday, 17th Aug 2026
Porters is open at 9am. We will have all lifts spinning this morning. There may be a small delay opening upper mountain lifts as we complete control work first thing.
Yesterday and overnight, we received 10-15cm of new snow on the mid and upper mountain, a bit less on the lower mountain. There are deeper drifts in places, and there will be some fun turns to be had today in windblown stashes.
Today’s forecast is for clear blue skies, amazing views in all directions, and light breezes.
Bring sunblock and a big smile; both will be needed!
WEATHER
At 5:45am the temperature in the base area is minus 4. We have a light westerly breeze at lower elevations, increasing to light to moderate on the upper mountain. There will be cold temperatures today, so dress warm and get ready to enjoy a return to winter.
TERRAIN
We have groomed upper mountain trails through McNulty’s and Stellar Bowl, and mid and lower mountain trails on Easy Street and the learners area wide overnight.
Sundance is ungroomed. We will open as much terrain as possible today, subject to clearance from our Patrol Team.
ROAD
We will be holding vehicles at Chain Bay 2 until control work is completed.
Chains are required on all vehicles from chain bay 2. Please fit them where indicated. We do not sell or hire chains.
If you don’t have chains, or would prefer not to drive our access road, there will be a free shuttle for skiers and snowboarders, doing return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 9:30am and 10:30am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
LODGE AND SNOWPLAY
Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar will be open for coffee from 10am, and meals from 11am.
Snowplay at the Lodge will be opening at 10am today. Chains are required to access the Lodge and Snowplay.
