Snow Report
Last update: Saturday, 29th Aug 2026
Porters is open today with all lifts spinning.
It’s great to be operational again after a few days of all sorts of weather. We got rain, then snow, then rain again, and then lots of wind. Overall, the mountain has come through it OK. We had plenty of snow on our main trails before the storm, which has helped withstand the recent weather.
Today looks like it will be the best day of the weekend, before we see a return to windy weather tomorrow.
At 5:45am, the temperature in our base area is 4 degrees. Skies are mostly clear. There is a moderate north westerly wind in the base area, increasing to moderate with stronger gusts on the upper mountain. This is expected to continue all day.
We groomed the main trails this morning. With rain affected surfaces off trail, and some icy patches, the groomed trails will offer the best skiing and riding today.
Chains are not required for our access road today. We recommend that all vehicles carry chains in winter, as conditions can change rapidly.
Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day picking up at Chain Bay 2, and the Lodge on request, at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am.
Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar will be open for coffee from 10am, and meals from 11am.
Snowplay at the Lodge will be opening at 10am today. Chains are not required to access the Lodge and Snowplay.
