Porters is open! Winter ‘26 is on!
We will be open today with the Chair, Platter and Magic Carpet lifts running from 9am.
The mountain is looking fantastic after the storm this week, and with blue skies and light winds, it’s setting up to be an amazing opening day.
At 5:40 am we have clear skies, light south westerly winds at all elevations, and the temperature in the base area is 0 degrees. Remember your sun block, it will be a great day to work on the goggle tan.
We have been making snow on Easy Street and the learners area for the last couple of days, to add to the natural snow that we took delivery of earlier this week. Expect chalky snow over a firmer base, which will be a lot of fun for dialling in those turns and blowing the cobwebs away. Early season conditions exist, please be aware of thin areas in places.
Our road has icy patches on the upper sections, and chains are required on all vehicles today. Please fit chains at Chain Bay 2, where indicated. We will have staff there to assist, and check that you have correctly fitted chains, before proceeding up the road to our car park, where you will be welcomed by one of our friendly team, who will direct you to a parking spot.
If you do not have chains for your vehicle, or would prefer not to drive our access road, please park at Chain Bay 2, where indicated, and hop on our shuttle service.
Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am.
Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
Porters Lodge, Restaurant and Bar will be running Snowplay again from 10am. Chains are not required for access to Snowplay today.
All of us at Porters are super stoked to welcome our guests back for another winter of good times and smiles! See you all soon!
