Snow Report
Last update: Sunday, 12th Jul 2026
Porters is open. It’s looking like we are due for another stunner today, so come on up and enjoy a beautiful Sunday in the mountains.
We will have the chair, platter and magic carpet lifts spinning at 9am, and T1, T2 and T3 open around 10am, with access to Big Mama and hopefully Bluff Face.
We received a solid delivery of snow in the storm over the last week – around 1.2m. This came in with a fair bit of wind which has redistributed the new snow around the ski area. There are wind stripped areas and deep drifts.
Conditions are best described as early season, and in particular our lift lines on the T Bars will be thin and patchy in places.
It’s probably a good idea to bring your older skis or boards for the upper mountain lifts today, along with a sense of adventure, and you will likely be rewarded with some great skiing and riding.
The forecast for today is for sunny clear skies. The temperature in the base area at 5.45am is minus 1 degree, with a light north westerly breeze, increasing to light to moderate at higher elevations as the day progresses.
We have been making snow on Easy Street and the learners area for the last few days, to add to the accumulation from the recent storm. Expect chalky snow over a firmer base, which will be a lot of fun to get your turns dialled in.
Our road has icy patches on the upper sections, and chains are required on all vehicles today. Please fit chains at Chain Bay 2, where indicated. We will have staff there to check that you have correctly fitted chains, before proceeding up the road to our car park, where you will be welcomed by one of our friendly team, who will direct you to a parking spot. We hope that the chain call will change later today as the sun gets on the road.
If you do not have chains for your vehicle, or would prefer not to drive our access road, please park at Chain Bay 2, where indicated, and hop on our shuttle service.
Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am.
Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
Porters Lodge, Restaurant and Bar will be running Snowplay again, from 10am-4pm.
