What a day it was yesterday. It was awesome to share our paradise in the Craigieburns with a solid crew of frothers, chasing down some genuinely epic conditions. The sun came out, we got Bluff and Big Mama open. There were plenty of smiles and laughs. Let’s do it all again today!!
Porters is open with all lifts spinning from 9am. After another 15cm of new snow yesterday, we have had a total in excess of 50cm in the last two days out of the storm, that has now cleared. We have also topped up our lower slopes with snow making. The mountain is looking fantastic, and there will be some great times to be had today for those who make the effort.
We have groomed our trails wide overnight, we expect to get Big Mama and Bluff Face open again today. The forecast today is for clear skies and sunshine, with cold temperatures. Bring the sunblock. This could be the day of the season.
WEATHER
At 5:45am, we have clear skies, light breezes at all elevations, and wall to wall snow. The temperature is minus 5 degrees.
ROAD
Chains are required on 2wd vehicles from chain bay 2, and 4wd vehicles from chain bay 3 at Longspur. Please fit them where indicated. We do not sell or hire chains.
If you don’t have chains, or would prefer not to drive our access road, there will be a free shuttle for skiers and snowboarders, picking up at chain bay 2, and the Lodge on request, at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am.
Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
RENTALS
New for this winter, we have a range of Black Crows demo skis, in all sizes, available in our rentals department. Skis are $79 a day, or $99 with Lange boots. Pop into rentals if you already have a pass, see Antoine and the team, and get fitted out with some shiny high-end skis, and make the most of the awesome conditions on the mountain this weekend.
LODGE / SNOWPLAY
Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, just 6km up our access road, will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Pop in for a bite to eat after your day on the mountain, the food will impress.
Snowplay at the Lodge will be open from 10am-4pm today.
